Belgian Malinois are super-smart, high-energy working dogs famous for military/police roles (like Cairo in the bin Laden raid), even skydiving due to their light build. They're loyal "Velcro dogs" for families but need experienced owners for intense physical and mental jobs, excelling in agility, detection, and herding with incredible drive, speed (up to 30 mph!), and focus, often seen as powerful, intense protectors with a soft spot for their people.
